Dana Lightbourne is the 2nd of 3 children born in Huntsville AL. She earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Oakwood College, now University, followed by an M.S. in Mathematics from Tennessee State University. Dana taught her first class independently as a Teacher’s Assistant at Western Michigan University in 2000. She continued teaching at Tennessee State University before moving to Bermuda in 2002. Dana completed a second master’s degree in Education with the focus on Curriculum and Instruction. She taught at Bermuda Institute upon moving to Bermuda and remained there for 3 years. In the Fall of 2005, Dana became an adjunct lecturer at Bermuda College. She joined the full time BC faculty during the Fall 2006 term and is currently a Senior Mathematics Lecturer at Bermuda College.
Dana is married and lives in Bermuda with her husband and their two sons. When she isn’t teaching or tutoring mathematics, she enjoys scrapbooking, reading, playing math and word games, and listening to music.
